By now most people have heard the term yoga and feel they know something about it. Yoga in our modern day society has mainly become the practise of physical postures (movements) which are being used for exercise. So what are the true paths of yoga?
There are many paths leading to enlightenment, awareness or to the blissful conscious state. Yoga meaning Union is the path to connecting one self with the spirit that has taken home in our being. This spirit being a part of our creator is the same energy that gave birth to us here on earth. There are many paths of yoga and which one a person journeys on really depends on their karma and personality. It will depend on which one helps them learn more and which one challenges them to devote their love first to mother nature (creator) and to also help them control the ego mind.
There are six paths to yoga.
Hatha. The practise of physical postures
which enables the practitioner to control the inner state and bringing the restless body under their control to be able to sit peacefully in meditation.
Karma. Giving of ones time and life over to selfless service for others. This service is done with total surrender to God without attachment to any results.
Mantra. The focus is turned to japa, the repetition of universal sound vibrations pertaining to a part of the spirit. These words when repeated have a pure meditative effect on a person’s being.
Bhakti. Surrendering through devotion where a person strives to be aware of divinity in all living creatures. This is the path of ceaseless worship.
Jnana. This is the path of wisdom where one applies ego less intelligence to achieve spiritual liberation.
Raja. This path is considered a higher path as it encompasses all other yoga. The goal is to be enlightened and to be united with Brahman the all pervading spirit.
Choose the path which is your calling and you will never want for something or someone again. This is true liberation beyond the bondage caused by the limitations of the mind.

Namaste Yogi Cameron,
I’m so grateful for this article, especially today.Thank you Yogi Cameron.
I have gone to some hatha yoga classes a few years ago.And i also did kundalini yoga.Yogi Cameron, you have not mentioned anything about kundalini yoga. When i used to do kundalini yoga, after the session i was in a state of higher awareness and bliss each time and my energy centres were always opened. My eyes used to sparkle again. And i felt very happy always. And i felt love.I just wonder why you haven’t mentioned about it?
Also, Yogi Cameron,do you have any videos of your teachings for sale?If i could buy a DVD with you instructing the postures that would be great.I do not have the time to go to the yoga classes where i used to go because i’m doing other things which are equally important to me right now.Although most important of all is the practice of yoga.I was taught a precious lesson today after which i felt the difference and knew that i HAVE to do yoga. You know i am not there where you are so i cannot attend your classes. And neither can i fly there. All i’m doing is thinking, breathing, eating Yogi Cameron 24/7 and most important of all i’m growing and becoming more and more aware and concious. So you’re a good thing! And i’m not going to listen to you if you tell me not to do so or that it’s dependancy or any such thing.I know what’s good for me!And i’ve already gotten so many answers from the universe.Every morning i go to watch the sunrise, there’s no sunrise to see in that sense because it is constantly cloudy here and stormy, but i go to the sea and i stand infront of the splashing waves and become more and more enlightened and feel real love.

For now I have posted videos for free on youtube.com/camerongoodhealth where you can do yoga each day.
The 6 paths I have written about here are the oldest paths and Kundalini fits in under Hatha which is the physical practice.
Namaste.
