Money has such a hold on everyone’s mind that we will have to take some yogic measures to relieve ourselves of the burden we go through each day. For most it is the fear of not having enough till they die and for a few the fear of not having enough to live in physical luxury. Then there are even a smaller minority (that rule the majority) who are fearful to lose control and power over the people - the power that comes with owning most of the wealth of the world. Here are a few suggestions to better understand how to avoid worrying about money and view the issue from a spiritual yogic standpoint.
1- Every time you go out shopping there are sales and discounts in every shop. Why? Because mentally you think you are getting something for less. When you shop your attitude to buying should be ‘do I need that’ rather than ‘I want it or how cheap it is. ‘ This is controlling our desires.
2- Saving money is a phenomenon we have to redefine. Saving money does not include spending money first to save. This is a western marketing plan, that came about during the 30’s, which was called public relations (rather manipulation) where corporations plotted to get people to buy things they don’t need. Saving money is actually when you receive money to save, not spend and then mentally think you saved by paying less!
3- Have a long-term view on life and know that as much as you buy, the more you will have stress to look after and worry about it all. Shopping, consuming and excess = Stress, depression and an early death. Save your time and money by settling for much less material and much more spiritual.
4- Avoid any kind of debt so your nerves are not destroyed trying to pay back a loan to buy something that will out live you.
5- View your money as universal and not personal. When possible share it with others for USEFUL purposes. This point of view and practise will help cultivate a feeling of peace, knowing that we have nothing to protect against and that other humans are part of the same spirit we are.
Live your life with the intention of peaceful and kind thought, which are not limited in any way. Know that abundance is the normal natural state of the mind and that unless you have a spiritual view on money, no amount will ever be enough.

God, nature or the creator of all should be our hero and it is this energy that we should seek out. To be a hero is of this world (material, emotional) and through our yogic practises we find ways to move up to other levels of existence where we realize, the one real energy that is true is within all of us. All are a part of the great hero called nature.
Namaste.
