How to live longer (Oprah Show)

Everyone in our culture seems to be obsessed with youth and living longer but we are not doing much which is very useful with the time we are given, so why do we want to add more to it? Is this just another example of our addiction to physical and material ideas?

On the Oprah show they were discussing how some people in certain areas of the world are living beyond a century and were investigating to see how they are doing this. They spoke a lot about staying younger and living longer physically but little time was given to spiritual health which is why we should be keeping our bodies healthy in the first place.

But the people that they did show all had one thing in common-they did not live in artificial surroundings or partake in artificial substances i.e artificial light, foods, apartments, electronics, medication or a hospital. They all spent most of their day in the outdoors close to nature, living off the land without storing or taking more than they need.

Now our farmers who live close to the land do not live long and look this healthy. Why is that? Maybe because they are making business from nature and it does not have a good karmic reaction.

The native people also put emphasis on not eating late at night and they do not have a tradition of eating 3 meals a day and snacking. Their whole habits move with the rhythm of nature which is their learning force, teaching them all they need for living a health happy life.

Yoga philosophy tells us we use to live much longer but as we pass through this denser heavier time the average age of yogis in this age is 120. There are many people living in mountains and villages who live well beyond a century because of their lifestyle and way of thinking.

Everyday there are more shows about how to stay young and live longer. I think beyond this point we should see what we are doing with this time we have here on earth and are we living a spiritual healthy life being useful to others and fulfilling our earthy purpose-otherwise why live longer?

Ostad Elahi, a persian philosopher, musician and jurist dead in 1974 wrote “the key which opens the access to all levels of spirituality, it is the will” Very spiritual and down to earth in the same time, he had a truly atypical course. His thought could summarize itself by his own words “live in society, earn your livelihood, and take care of your health, but strengthen and develop your soul to the point that, like a solid tree, nothing can shake you.” [If you want to read more about this character go to http://www.ostadelahi.com/ We all can develop a high level of spirituality (it doesn’t mean that we necessarily believe in god, personally I don’t!) and stay down to earth by participating to the economy of the country where we live, respecting the earth, being healthy and useful to others.
As far as I am concerned, the right question is not “How to live longer” but “How to live better”.
    Namaste.

I find this here a good mind training (affirmation) which helps to retain, protect and strengthen one’s own energy.I just won’t tell you from where it is -
    so here it is :

    O Disbelievers!
    I worship not that which ye worship;
Nor worship ye that which I worship.
And I shall not worship that which ye worship.
Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion.

I love this.I’m sure this also helps in living longer.Living is alot of chi - ki , lifeforce which is the Root Chakra.Oh Root Chakra Major.I’m so in love with the root chakra.Got to love the root chakra. And i adore the solar plexus.Got to adore the solar plexus. Now what’s to become of all this?Best is to balance all the seven chakras.Poppin in later. luv,luv

Just be yourself and grow spiritually. It is about your soul. You are your soul and your soul wants your material body (that’s what exists on the physical plain),to match it up.We so often don’t do the things we feel inside us.That is not paying attention to our soul and disobeying our true selves.

    I’m in a hurry right now.Crazy for sports ~ currently :).Bye,Yogi Cameron,c ya.
