Indian Diaries day 8 When the student is ready

 When the student is ready…

I wanted to share and encourage you to never give up on the things, which you want to learn or achieve because I know from my past and present work, every time I think maybe I am not ready for something ,the exact practice I need to go through comes along and presents itself to me.  I usually don’t get what I want but what I need for the next level of development.

The important thing here is never to stop trying because it is that effort we make in trying so hard that the next experience arrives. The journey we go through to reach each level gives us an understanding that there is no ultimate goal but just journeys and different pathes, which we need to travel to be able to experience each level.

I have come to India to further my practice and studies in Ayurvedic medicine, which I like to do each year as this is a life long journey of learning and experiencing different spiritual pathes. This trip I wanted to also go further in my yoga understanding but no opportunities were presenting themselves although I have been doing some of my deepest personal practises. But today I had a chance meeting with a man who runs an orphanage in Kashmir where there has been much warfare going on for years.

He is a student and devotee of the Yogananda Kriya Yoga and after hearing that I wanted to study this type of yoga he called his master- and the first thing the master said: ‘there is this foreign person here wanting to study.’ Before calling the master the student told me that the master only takes students who are ready to use this practice for the betterment of others because of the power it brings the individual.

Using this energy in other ways can be very damaging but used in the correct manner without ego or personal gain it will bring a person incredible awareness. He recounted that rebels had kidnapped him 19 times so far and each time he had been released without any explanation.

I want to encourage you to be a student at all levels of life as this way there is never any pressure to ‘be anyone’ just to ‘be’ and experience the best life has to offer. Any work or achievements you aspire to accomplish, place in the forefront of your mind and meditate on it until you have a break through. In this process there should be no stress or anxiety creating fear but only excitement and openness to what comes next.  Make learning your objective and all else will come.

This is a very interesting post !
It’s like the principle of communicating vessels. Once we are aware of our deep aspirations and prepared to move forward in that direction, the events are linked in a logical manner and not in a cacophony anymore which makes us lose control of our own life.
This is the first step that counts. The rest follows and makes sense. If we stop at one point for a reason x or y, we find ourselves in a state of stagnation that can be observed at all levels of our life.
It is empirical, because I was and I am still able to experience.
Learning is endless. And our willingness to make progress must be also unlimited!
Thanks Cameron for sharing your experience with us.
    Namaste.
