Every time I see these types of programs it makes me think of the negative advise people are getting and what they are putting their body through just to be acceptable to themselves (and others). It is such misinformation about karma and the ‘bigger’ picture called life.
Are they putting themselves through this to be on tv or to genuinely change their life? I was looking on the myspace page of Ryan C who won the first biggest loser competition and what he was saying about damaging his whole body by trying to lose weight in such a short amount of time.
Ayurveda and yoga therapy go deep into the inner system of a person working inside out. Is it the goal to be perfect, beautiful or healthy? This is a personal choice but only one has a good and positive outcome. To lose weight so rapidly especially in such a violent manner trying to beat the clock and putting the cardiovascular system at risk of over excessive workouts help a person to shorten their life.
I had this program on for 10 minutes and started suffering like the contestants as I watched this very unhappy lady screaming at them that they were nothing. This is called motivation in modern excessive material society.
If you ever find yourself in this situation or looking for this type of abuse, maybe contemplate your intention and motivation behind wanting to go through this. There is a safer and kinder way to lose weight that involves practise, discipline and action but on a long term basis without pain and suffering.
Ryan C put on all the weight that he lost only weeks after he lost it all. This is the story of most people who go through this type of weight loss.

Fashion diktats (but we must equally take in consideration cultural, educational and social aspects specific to each individual) partly generate the emergence of radical diets to try to lose weight and convince ourself that our life will change drastically.
We don’t think about loosing weight in order to increase our capital health but rather in order to please others, and make them change the way they look at us.
If we respect a lifestyle including the way we eat and by practicing some sport, issues related to the weight will disappear “de facto”. It is often easier to say than to do, I agree! However, with will and great determination, it is possible to reverse the trend and give ourself a few more years of well-being. It is worth it!
In the other hand, the opinion of others about you is interesting and constructive from the moment it doesn’t judge. An inquisitor opinion, is a malevolent opinion. Therefore there’s no need or interest to be liked by those who only judge on the appearance.

Just today, a friend of mine and I were commenting on how “old” the recently eliminated contest looked. She appeared happy and motivated for long term change by teaching fitness classes. Her body was now down to a size 8. However, her face never looked more worn.
I have conversed with people who have been greatly inspired by the show to change their unhealthy lifestyle. And if that is all the show accomplishes, that’s great. But I do agree that the dangerous pace, abusive trainer, and the lack of guidance in living a more sound, long-term, healthy lifestyle is just plain irresponsible of the network from which this show airs, not to mention the premise of the show itself. Moreover, I had to laugh out loud at the commercials that targeted the audience at home in between segments…gift certificates to all you can eat buffet…frozen “dinners”…anti-acids etc.
