I have been eating about once a day while I am here to help clean the system and to feel much lighter when I do my spiritual practices. I went to have breakfast yesterday and had Idly, which is like a patty made from rice. It is very light and you eat it with spicy coconut or other vegetables that are made into a sauce/ condiment (sort of). It is all savory, light and nutritious. Of course while I was eating images of people back home walking into Starbucks flashed in my head while the taste in my mouth held me firm in India.

My Local Starbucks - India
It is these experiences that suddenly enhance and amplify the other things, which are its opposite. All that sugar and coffee in the morning! Can the body and mind run on that? Well it can and it does for many millions of people, but what kind of personalities does it create? What about all that heavy stuff, eggs, oatmeal, bread, meat, pancakes, muffins, cereal and the amounts consumed…It makes me heavy just writing about it.
When I mention to the guy in the restaurant what people are eating back west - he just stares at me in disbelief (cause he doesn’t speak English!) but that’s not the point, the point is he would give me the same look if he did understand what I was telling him.
Forget about ‘what’s in your wallet’ what’s in your stomach?

While I was reading your post, Cameron, I just got the menu of the Christmas Diner Party my company proposed to us in a very tasty restaurant. This year, my boss choice went for an italian restaurant! Here is the menu:
Polenta Bianca
chicken liver, dried dates and wild mushrooms “Vellutata”or
Polipo
baby octopus, granny smith apples, Piemonte black rice, curry emulsion,
squid ink sauce
—
Gnudi
ricotta cheese, baby spinach, brown butter, crema di latte, sage
or
Caramelle
mussel-stuffed whole wheat pasta, cranberry bean cream, dry tomato, and rosemary garlic oil
—
Merluzzo
Chatham cod fish, red beet béarnaise, fingerling potatoes, salmon roe
or
Anatra
Peking duck breast, salsify pureé, purple potato chips, gooseberries, star anise infused sauce
—
Passion fruit soufflé
or
Profitterol
I must admit that this menu is far from the junk food you described in your post. But, I agree, this is still heavy food! Not so long ago, it would have been hard for me to make a choice as everything seems delicious
Today, I cannot consider eating them and to be honest, my taste buds do not react anymore! Am I starting to be a disgrace for the country I represent?
Anyway, I asked my boss if they could get me the same menu but cooked in a vegetarian way with only one dish :-)))) And, may be, if I treat myself in a gentle way, I will allow myself to eat a small dessert such as profiteroles (they made an orthographic mistake in the menu).
At least, the cost will be lighter for my boss and as far as I am concerned, my digestion will be much easier.
I am still waiting for the answer.
Namaste.

CAMERON!Hi hun~ also delicious is dosa - i particularly love sadha dosa and find it light, healthy and yumm.Idly and dosas - so delicious and healthy and light food.
I learnt years ago to avoid drinking coffee because it weakens the lifeforce - the ki.Besides long ago i used to have such stomach problems as throwing up 6-7 times a day for a couple of years and that was my usual daily life. And i never have been bulimic.
Therefore i drink not coffee any longer as it affects my stomach and my nervous system.
My health is so precious to me gorgeous Cameron and i love myself.
Cameron i am dreaming of eating some lip-licking idly and dosa and licking my fingers. The chutney is so delicous.yummm…..
